Super Bowl or Super Disappointment?

Yesterday as most of the country watched the Super Bowl, I, along with most of the viewers found the game to be disappointing and a huge let down. Not only was the game difficult to watch (as the Seahawks annihilated the Broncos), but the commercials and half time show were completely disappointing as well. Don't get me wrong, Bruno Mars did a good job, but the show seemed extremely quick compared to past half time shows. He only sang about three numbers, and in a blink of an eye, the half time show was over.

As a non-football fan and the wife of a huge one, I look forward to the commercials that come in between the game plays. One of the only commercials that made me laugh (as opposed to the number of touching, yet sappy commercials that made me feel depressed instead of funny and lighthearted), was the Ellen commercial. It was a little awkward at first seeing animals with huge heads on human bodies, but as soon as you heard Ellen's extremely recognizable voice, high expectations came along quickly, as well as a guarantee to be entertained. I love the song that was featured in the commercial by Aloe Blacc "Can You Do This?". I heard this song before when it was the soundtrack to the amazing freestyle dance that Amber Riley and Derek Hough did on Dancing With the Stars. It's super catchy and makes you wanna get up and move.

In case you missed it, here's the commercial. I can't post the video however without also sharing the Derek and Amber version as well. Download the song- you'll be so happy when it pops up on your iPod and surprises you with excellent energy.

"One of those days..."

Today is one of those days where you feel cranky and nothing is going right or is good enough. I'm unfortunately having one of those days. The most frustrating thing is that I can't pin point what exactly is the cause of my unhappiness- the root of it all.  All I know is that it happened this morning and stuck with me through the rest of the day. What an awful feeling to carry with you throughout the day with nothing to pull you out of the rut.

Often times when I'm having "one of those days" I reevaluate my life and my current situation. Am I happy with it? What can I do to improve? How can I be a better me? Times like this I also suddenly become very aware that there is only one life and I have to do my best at making it the best I want it to be, and cross all my life goals off my list before it's over.

Some people who know me would say, "your life is far from over, you're only 27". Yes, I may only be 27 years old, but we all know that some goals are better at being achieved at a young(er) age. I fully intend on having big girl goals when I am in my 40s, 50s and 60s+, but I know that there are certain goals I want to set for myself that I would like to achieve well before I reach any of those milestone-decade-ages.

I think making the goals and putting them down on paper is a step in the right direction- you're already acknowledging what you want to achieve for yourself big or small. Anything is possible. Anything. Why can't we all believe that? I have a dream to be a Broadway star, the chances of that happening are far from likely, but why can't that still be a dream I have and hold onto? Who is to tell me that that isn't possible one day? Nobody! The worst thing is for you to be that person who holds yourself back. The power of positive thinking is a mindset that everyone should have. With that, absolutely anything is possible because you manifest your own happiness. You are the only one who can control how things make you feel and how you absorb and handle the situations at hand.

I will share with you a few of my life goals, and I encourage you to list yours as well, big or small! Think about how you want to look back on your life, and how you want to know that you achieved whatever you dreamed of.

Merry Christmas

This year for the holidays I was lucky enough to get a new camera that I have wanted for at least the last 10 years. My husband and my family blessed me with my new toy- the Nikon D5200. One of my bucket list goals is to become an established photographer (within my own family) and capturing moments you would see in movies and in magazines. I have a love for those types of images. This holiday season I thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures of my 9 month old niece and grandparents. Here are some of my favorites.

My mother (middle) and her wonderful sisters.

 My beautiful cousin and me.

Mothers and daughters.
 Oreo.

  Quanto รจ bella.
 Light up the night.
 Silly faces.
 Cookie.
Nana in her glory.

A little inspiration

I am easily inspired by a good quote. Not just any quote, but one that makes you feel like you're a part of a movie and really gets you thinking. My house is subject to having inspirational quotes all over the place. Some people laugh at how many I have, but hey, it does the job of getting my mind going and gives me a little pick me up where and when needed! Here's a little reminder that we need to think of more often.

An Early Resolution

I'm sure many of you can relate to the feeling that New Years' resolutions are thought about on December 31st, implemented on the first few days of January and then almost immediately forgotten about until the next year rolls in. Many of us don't even think about achieving our January goals any other month of the year, however I am turning over a new leaf and before the New Year rolls in I am still working to achieve my goal from 2013. I have always played around with the idea of starting a blog.  I have such an appreciation for photography, crafts, organization, children fashion, design and music and I would like to share that with other people who also have appreciations for those things. So as a result this new blog was born. I hope that you find some ideas, get some laughs or just a little enjoyment from the things that make me smile. Thanks for reading!
